Astro Communications Appoints Dean Bruce as Head of Network Services.
Astro Communications has appointed Dean Bruce as Head of Network Services in support of its growth strategy and continued business transformation.
Kent, UK 6th January 2014
Having spent the previous 8 years at the Business ISP Timico Limited as Chief Technical Architect and Head of Pre Sales Dean joins the Astro management team to develop the service desk environment and to spearhead the design and build of the new core ISP network. Once completed Astro will begin to deliver its own internet access to its customers along with associated services putting complete control of the customer experience into their service capability.
Steve Hodges, Managing Director of Astro Communications commented on the appointment “I have known Dean for many years and he is by far one of the most customer focused and technically competent people I have ever worked with. It is a real privilege to have him join the team to help build on the last 29 successful years as we take Astro to a new level”.

Astro has designed and managed Networks and Data Centers services for our customers for many years but being able to deliver, support and develop ISP services through our own core network is very positive progress for us. Our network will be built in a way to service our corporate clients and provide a higher level of technical capability that is available from the mass market players. It has been an ambition of mine for many years to move into this space and I am confident that now we have the right team in place we are in a position to do an excellent job that this will be a significant leap forward for Astro.
The company anticipates the development on the service desk to happen in the very short term with new team members and new systems being brought into play in the next couple of months. The current plans for the new network are that it is in place by the end of the summer with services being delivered over it from the autumn.
