"Thanks for your time and help yesterday. Who could believe that such a small change would make such a big difference. You are now everyone's best friend here!"
Roger Menzies, Powerplate
"Philip, I knew from our first meeting (we did get on so well) that Astro would be a company that would work well with Darley..."
"...It has been good to work with such a dedicated team of people rather than a faceless company and I hope Astro Communications and Darley have many years of working together like this."
John Nethersole, Darley
"Can you please pass on my congratulations and thanks to all those Astro guys involved in getting Haven Europe working..."
"...this was seamless with everyone from the Have Europe Directors themselves, members of the Europe team, project team members from outside and of us in the IS Dept being yet again delighted by an excellent job well done."
Jeremy Stancombe, Bourne Leisure
"...and in particular I'd like to thank the Astro team for the rapid resolution of the chamber data issues last Tuesday. It's very reassuring to have that kind of support."
Ian Short, London Borough of Waltham Forest

Social responsibility has always been an important part of our history, very much on a personal level for all of our team members. From our first year we have invested funds and time to assist charities, local schools, young people’s activity groups, young people’s sports tournaments and through sponsorship for individuals taking on fund raising challenges. Our directors have been personally involved in school governance, assisting schools with motivational events for under achieving young people and fund raising events for specific requirements. A few of the events we sponsor and are/or have been directly involved with are as follows: Glebe School, Leigh City Technical College, Burning2Learn, Cancer Research, Great Yarmouth Bowls Festival Under 25 Outdoor Open Tournament, Great Yarmouth Under 21 Open Indoor Bowls Tournament, Bud Flannagan Leukaemia Fund, The British Heart Foundation, RSPCA and many others.
Many people ask "why bowls?" In 1998, one of our directors saw some young people playing bowls and was impressed with the dedication and skill of the players, some as young as seven. At the time they did not have any tournament to enter or to train for so we launched the Great Yarmouth Under 21 Open Indoor Bowls Tournament. Over the years we have see young novices drawn and holding their own against National Champions. In 2003 we extended this sponsorship to the Great Yarmouth Bowls Festival Under 25 Outdoor Open Tournament.
This year (2009) has been a momentous year for us as the eleventh Astro Under 21 Cup was taken for the first time by a female bowler - 16 year old Kirsty Clarke. Kirsty put in an outstanding performance through to a convincing win.
